Thursday, December 20th, 2007This is the first page where Mack and his deputy Ted fully interact and I have to admit that I LOVE writing their dialogue. There’s just a wonderful disconnect between the two men (the “disarm” gag goes RIGHT over Ted’s head) yet Mack can’t help but be fond of his buffoonish deputy. And again, Julio draws such perfect facial expressions.
Originally, I asked Julio to draw Ted as a frail, thin nerd. But I like Julio’s version better.
My family and I are flying to Minnesota tomorrow to spend Christmas with my wife’s parents, so I don’t know how much computer time I’ll have between tomorrow and Christmas.
Heck, I don’t even know if my in-laws HAVE an internet connection, so allow me to wish everyone a Merry Christmas by sharing a holiday “card” that Julio sent to me in late 2005:
