SUPERFOGEYS VOL. 1 - THE TRADE PAPERBACK - NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER!!!
I have been waiting so, so long for this. The SuperFogeys has always been meant to be read as a whole and this new trade paperback represents the best possible reading experience. I'm pulling out all the stops for this. First, take a look at this thing:
(Design by Th3rd World Publisher Michael DeVito)
Simple and elegant, I love the directness of that cover. You can easily imagine what the next volumes will look like and how great they'll look together. Here's what you'll be getting inside:
• The first four chapters of the SuperFogeys NEWLY EDITED by Brock Heasley for a smoother reading experience:Ch.1, "Insane Romance From Hell" Ch.2, "Bingo Night" Ch.3 "The Techno Shuffle" Ch.4 "Dictator Tot's Revenge"
• An updated, running COMMENTARY on each and every page of the book below the strips and stories. With some surprises!
• All of the previously published BONUS STORIES: "Operation: Valhalla" "Captain Spectacular and Star Maiden in the Inevitable Dimension" "Cellmates"
• The PREVIOUSLY UNPUBLISHED bonus story "The Secret Origin of the Space Pig"
• FOREWORD written by [TOP SECRET!] and AFTERWORD written by Th3rd World Head Honchos
• DESIGNED by Michael DeVito and Jon Conkling (The same team that designed the sold-out "Stuff of Legend")
• SKETCHES, UNSEEN ART, and MORE!
Price? Glad you asked. $19.99 plus shipping, $24.99 plus shipping for the Artist Edition that comes with an original sketch card. This is going to be a slick, slick book.
And please, do spread the word! I know a lot of people have been waiting for this and, to be blunt, it would be nice to break even with SF! This is the best way to support the comic, through the purchase of this trade. I want desperately to keep doing SuperFogeys and I hope you can help me do that and get a super sweet book in the process.

WHAT HAPPENS TO SUPERFOGEYS COLLECTIONS #1-3?
SuperFogeys Collections #1-3 will no longer be sold once we run out of stock. The trade replaces them.
CAN YOU GET YOUR SUPERFOGEYS TRADE SIGNED?
Yes, you can. Make a note of it when you make your purchase in the comments section and we will charge a bit of extra shipping in order to send the books out to me first for signing. (Books are shipped from Maryland. I live in California.)
CAN YOU GET A CERTAIN CHARACTER ON THE SKETCH CARD?
Yes, you can. Again, in the customer comments just name the character you want on the card and that's the one you get. If you don't specify, it will be randomly selected for you.
PRE-ORDER. GREAT. BUT WHEN WILL THE BOOK SHIP?
In plenty of time for Christmas, that's when! Look for the books to ship in early October. I plan on debuting them at the Baltimore Comic-Con right around that time, so no long waits this time!
I WANNA PRE-ORDER NOW! WHAT WERE THOSE LINKS AGAIN?
Artist Edition! Regular Edition!
SWIFTY MAKES AN APPEARANCE IN NORM FEUTI'S "RETAIL!"
Retail is a nationally syndicated comic strip by fellow Tall Tale Features member Norm Feuti. While Norm's Gill is currenly on hiatus, you can still read Retail online and in your local paper (if your local paper has class). This past Sunday, Norm debuted a strip that features quite a few familiar faces, including our very own Swifty. Check it out!
NEXT WEEK:
I hope to finally file my San Diego Comic-Con report with pics and vids and stuff. On Tuesday, join us for another installment of Tangerine's origin with art by Eldon Cowgur as Tangerine meets...Master Masticate!
Then, on Thursday, be back here for either Bubbles of Light 5 or more happy time with Jerry's family. Oddly enough, I haven't decided yet.

No more comics for me until I find a job (austerity measure). But soon as I do, I'm getting the trade paperback.I had an Uncle Jerry. He wasn't a superhero or even a sidekick. He was, however, my dad's big brother and we loved him despite his shortcomings in the areas of heroism and sidekickery.

hmm...looks like Jerry's luck is finally changing. That trade paperback looks really cool too. It just shows that often the best designs are the simple ones.

Bullfinch - Sweet! Thanks, TL! Reminds me I need to order my copy of Bullfinch as well.Greg B. - Understood. I hope things are looking better for you soon (and not just so I can sell another Tpb!)
Mike J. - Thanks, as always, for your support and enthusiasm Michael.
Lynn - Thanks! Glad you approve! (whew)
Yourd - Agreed on the simplest of designs. Soon as DeVito told me his idea I knew it was exactly right. Seeing it just confirmed it.
Tyler D. - You just might be right...
Chip - Awesome! Thanks for your future order! I'm really pulling out all the stops for this thing. Glad you approve of today's script. It's gone over better than I thought it would.
Si Civa - Hey, Ronald's not so bad. Least he's cute, right?
Dierna - There could be some grandkids in there, but your math isn't too far off. I take it you support a Jerry-Spy Gal coupling?

*drools over paperback*Spy Gal's gettin' busy! Are things gonna finally go right for poor Jerry? Somehow I doubt it....

Oh please!Brock, I've been reading the whole story and maybe I'm not getting the point here, but I think Spy Gal should get married with the Capt.
Anyway, anything will be good. I really like your comic and I will be reading it.
I want that book!

DGriff13 - Wait'll you see what the inside of the Tpb looks like. As we get closer, I'll show some of the interior pages off so you can get a better idea of how this thing will be set up. Things have to go right for Jerry eventually...right?Yujuhi - Thanks so much for chiming in! I know there are many more people reading than comment, but it always warms my heart when one of them steps out from the shadows. As for Jerry and Spy Gal...I'm remaining neutral on the entire issue. There's no wrong guess right now! As for the book...click on the link! It's yours for the taking!

Very sweet. But I get the feeling Jerrys 'family' is not what it appears to be... Like he hired some random people off the street to come in so he wouldn't be alone on visitor day. Prehaps I'm over thinking it...Nice lookin' TPB ya got thar!

I don't know, Ed. That certainly osunds like a fascinating theory. I have my doubts about it though. I mean, Jerry hasn't demonstrated any type of superpower yet. It has been hinted that he has no superpower. So him having a normal family seems to go along with that theme. Of course, you never know what Brock is actually going to do, since he knows exactly what is predictable and usually strays from that.Brock says...

Artisan54 - Dude, so glad you're still out there. I do miss my regulars when they're gone, but you should never feel obligated to comment all the time. Glad you have today though. Some of Jerry's family is based on mine, yeah. I didn't call out their names for that reason just because it's not necessary--if you know who I've based them on it's pretty obvious. I called out the names just because it seemed to fit and if you can fit the names in without too much awkwardness, then it's always a good idea. Here's how it breaks down: Dale is based on my father-in-law Dale, Lynn is based on my mother-in-law Lynn, Craig is based on my brother-in-law Craig, Rosie is based (once again) on my daughter Elora (who is also the model for Dictator Tot, but this time I've imagined her at about 11-years old, instead of the 6 she actually is and the 3 she was when I created Dictator Tot--got all that? Oh, and "Rose" is Elora's middle name) and Ronald is based on no one. I just needed a bratty kid.
As for the trade...first printing is limited to 100 copies, depending on pre-orders. Order your copy now to guarantee yours will be in the mail!
Puckhogg4 - Fantastic! I LOVE new readers! I hope you enjoy combing through the archives.
Ed and Tad - I'm gonna let you guys (and anyone else who'd like join in) hash this one out as I don't want to color your discussion one way or another. But I do very much enjoy the theorizing! Have at it!

@Tad - Excellent point! Afraid I had forgotten that Jerrys powers are suspect. (I'll go re-read the archive as "punishment" ;) ) I think something will come from their visit though, maybe Ronald (or another) will inadvertantly blow the wistle on Jerrys powers one way or another.Skeptible says...

A) I like the drawing of Rose spilling out of the first frame, it looks great.B) That book cover makes me chuckle just looking at it. I scrolled back up after reading the comments and it did it to me again.

Ed - How'd your punishment go?Skeptible - Thanks. I'm not to radical with my paneling, but every once in a while I like to try new things. Glad you like the cover. I friggin' love it. Can't wait to see the insides.
Don - That would certainly disturb me!
