AND THE WRITER OF THE FOREWORD TO SUPERFOGEYS VOLUME ONE IS...

Rich Johnston of BleedingCool.com!

I've been reading Rich's work for years, first his "Lying in the Gutters" column over at Comic Book Resources, and now on his own site. Rich is the foremost gossip mongerer in comic book land. He's always on top of the many changes in the industry and sees the trends before most even know they're coming.  He's also a creator in his own right, having recently penned the Watchmen parody, Watchmensch.

Rich knows his stuff and I couldn't be more honored to have him pen the very first SuperFogeys foreword.  He's pretty proud of it too, and even posted it in full over at his site.  Check it out.

Thanks, Rich!

BALTIMORE COMIC CON NEXT WEEK!

October 10th is almost here! Don't forget that T.L. and I will both be at the Th3rd World booth at the Baltimore Comc Con doing sketches and signing and selling books.  I'll have a ton of copies of SuperFogeys Volume One.  Hope to see you there.

INKS FOR SF 227

I don't think there's anything particularly spectacular about these inks, but I kind of like them anyway. I know there are those of you that enjoy seeing the black and white versions, so here you go!

NEXT WEEK:

On Tuesday a whole new SuperFogeys Origins kicks off, one that may sound a little familiar to those that have been with SF since BEFORE the beginning..."Jetpacks Anonymous: Tom's Story" starts next week!

Then, be back here on Thursday for the Star Maiden Strip Show. I'm not kidding.

--------------------------

Don't forget to order your copy of SuperFogeys Vol.1 today! Available in both ARTIST and REGULAR editions! Collects Chapters 1-5, FIVE Untold Tales of the SuperFogeys, commentaries, never-before-seen art, and much, much more. Get The SuperFogeys off the screen and into your hands where it belongs.

Nice inks. Love Star Maiden's obliviousness. Let me guess which word you swore you'd never use... Liverwurst?

What in the world do all of those "fans" have in common? Clearly they are working for the third man!!

Mmmm... seems to me she's just free-disassociating.
No big thing... I do it all the time.

Dierna - Not that we're seeing here. EVERYONE has a family though, right? But no, this it for Star for this chapter. We'll find out why one day, you'll see.

Greg B. - "fart," actually. Thanks for nominating SF in the WCRAs by the way! Never thought of Cami as a candidate, but she's a fine choice. Wouldn't it be wild if she won?

THeasley - Dun, dun DUN! Want a fun fact? All three of Star Maiden's fans are based on real people, though the old creepy dude is a little abstract. Believe it or not, he's based on YOU. I had originally drawn you in as you are, but to tell you the truth you don't look eccentric enough. So, I elongated your chin a bit, cut off your hair and aged you up. Still, it's definitely you. Congrats.

Mike J. - Thanks, my friend!

EEN - And you're an Evil Emperor, so that's saying something.

Amanda - We should all so lucky to have total strangers care so much about us.

Uncle Al - You've looked into the legality of marrying a fart too then?

Crashl33t - She's certainly my personal hero, if only for that.

Cyberdog - Thanks, man!

DGriff13 - There can be no arguing that. Liverwurst is the true test of love.

Artisan54 - Never met a--? What? Man, you haven't lived. You need some life experience.

Whoa! I'm finally in SuperFogeys! How many appearances am I gonna make? Twenty? FIFTY?

So I guess the guy on the left is McKay and the guy in the middle is Logan?

Tad says...

posted 10/2/09 7:52 am

I thin k the guy in the middle is me. And I am honored to appear alongside the word "fart."

Brock says...

Tyler D. - That's weird. I don't know why your comment would have been erased. Glad you reposted though. Star Maiden can only get stranger, my friend. Only stranger.

THeasley - Incorrect! The man in the suit is actually Th3rd World webmaster Brian Liccardo and the guy is the middle is Tad Hasen, the originator of the SuperFogeys idea.

Tad - Correct! And...as for the "fart"...I figured it was only fitting. Look for yourself again next week!

Mmm... interesting concept. Would a super-being's gaseous emission be considered a sentient being? Is there Earth law, extrasolar law, or meta-law that applies?
Is there tapioca pudding for breakfast?
