UPDATE! KRISHNA POSTS THE ROUGH THUMBNAILS TO THIS PAGE!

Over at his PC Weenies site, Krishna has posted the thumbnails to this very page. Krishna's thumbs are better than a lot of people's finished art and I think I probably could have gotten away with just posting those and a lot of you might not have noticed. He also gives a further peek behind the curtain by discussing our process of working together. Go see!

WELCOME KRISHNA SADASIVAM TO SUPERFOGEYS ORIGINS!

If you haven't check out Krishna Sadasivam's excellent webcomics PC Weenies and Uncubed, then you need to do that right NOW. Krishna has been in the webcomic game far, far longer than I and he's a phenomenal talent.

Krishna's story, "Spy Gal vs. Star Maiden" is set to run three pages over the next few weeks. For a guy who usually concentrates on strips, he's really knocked this one of the park. The script for this story was originally written for David Reddick of Legend of Bill fame, but due to a hefty schedule David had to bow out, much to his and my regret.

HOWEVER, my sadness turned to elation when not more than an hour later Krishna agreed to pinch hit, taking on a story that was especially tailored to Mr. Reddick's strengths. He friggin' knocked it out of the park!  I think you guys are gonna dig it, especially what comes next!

KEEPING A SCHEDULE

I've only ever been late posting a strip once, and that was on a week I went to the ER at the same time my daughter was hospitalized with pneumonia. I've been sick this week as well, but I'm hoping that won't impact Thursday's strip.  If it does, at the very least you'll see a pencils-only version until I can update with full inks and color. Thanks for your patience in advance.

See you on Thursday with SuperFogeys 232!

Dr. Rocket has THE BEST look on his face in the record of supervillain looks-on-faces of all time!!

And post-script: cut the sickness. It's not good for you.

Really sorry to see Dave have to bow out after those awesome sketches he did. Glad to see Krishna could step in and put his own stamp on it, but it would be nice if Dave could find time to do it eventually. It would be interesting to see two artists' approaches to the same script and I am still eager to see Dave do a story.

Get better, dude.

Y'know...for some reason the look on Dr. Rocket's face reminds me of Syndrome from the Incredibles...

It's a lot of fun to see Krishna's take on these characters and this material. Seems Spy Gal is fairly fixated. Looking forward to the rest of this story!

spygal has got some hips there!

im sensing this is going to be a cat fight of epic proportions. im rooting for spygal.

side note: why cant spygal just phase through the wall? is is a special alloy she cant get through?

THeasley - Trying desperately to cut the sickness. Feeling much better today, actually. Agreed on Dr. Rocket. I admit I just stuck him in there so I could see Krishna's take on him.

Greg B. - I was sorry to see Dave go as well, but I do think we'll see him back some day. I agree it would interesting to see another artist's take on the same script, but I think I'd rather see Dave do something new, if only for the challenge of coming up with another script that's tailored to his sensibilities.

YourD - Huh. Now that you mention it, I see it too.

Chris Watkins - Thanks, Chris! Welcome to SF! Incidentally, I checked out your comic and I can't believe I'd never heard of it before. It's fantastic! Instant bookmark for me.

Artisan54 - Yeah, I love those hips. I actually have very specific instructions for any artist willing to tackle both Spy Gal and Star Maiden. Physically, they're intended to be opposites. The hips are a big part of that. Cat fight begins on page 2!

As for the phasing issue...ok, full disclosure. Krishna was completely done drawing this story before I realized the problem. Scratch that, it wasn't met that realized it. It was Elora, my daughter (aka Dictator Tot). I always let her read SF before anyone else and after finishing the story, that was her first question--why didn't Spy Gal just phase through the wall? I felt like such an idiot. It's easily explained away, but I hadn't taken the time to do it. She suggested I put some dialogue in there to explain the wall was different or something and I promised her I would just as soon as I could.

Then, of course, I promptly forgot. She even reminded me a few days later and I forgot again. Until your comment. So...you'll notice it's been fixed now. Not a huge fix because I didn't want to spend a lot of time on it (I only have three pages, after all). Thanks for pointing it out. Didn't mean to leave that plot hole in there!

I like that Dr. Rocket is always "staring" instead of "watching" like a normal Evil Mastermind would.

Brock.... "friggin"? ;-)

Is that a new costume for Swifty or somebody else entirely??

Skeptible - Eh, you know. Not like I'm gonna say the OTHER word. Thanks for catching the "staring" thing. I almost think I wrote this entire story for that one joke.

Artisan54 - Thanks, man!

DGriff13 - Yeah, Krishna brings a real 1960's era flourish to the younger Fogeys, which is great and unexpected considering his own comics are so very modern.

TylerD - I knew I forgot something! However...I can confirm that slime shows up on page 3.

Dierna - Yes, that is Swifty. I changed his costume towards the end of the Society of Heroes origin for legal reasons. Hoping to retroactively change it soon. Sorry for the confusion.
