ORDER YOUR BULLFINCH COMIC BOOK TODAY!
Anyone who reads SuperFogeys Origins knows very well how incredible talented TL Collins is. As the artist, TL brings it week in a week out, even tweaking the pages when I go all diva on him and demand that Spy Gal's hairy back be erased! (Okay, that's never happened, but I've been known to be a butt now and again.)
Hopefully you're also hip to the fact that TL does his own comic which he both writes and draws, Bullfinch. That's right, Mr. Collins is not just a pretty face. He's been known to write a mean strip of dialogue on a thrice weekly basis.
Right now, in the Th3rd World Store, you can purchase your very own copy of the first issue the hilarious Bullfinch:
Do it now. Do it here. You won't regret it! (Available in both Artist and Regular Editions!)
ONLY TWO MORE PAGES LEFT IN THE SOCIETY OF HEROES ORIGIN!
I'll bet this story has been going on so long that some of you out there think that SuperFogeys Origins is ONLY about the SuperFogeys in the fifties. While that would no doubt be a great story to pursue, I have something slightly larger in scope in mind.
Once this story is done, TL Collins (who, let's face, is freakin' amazing) will be taking a short break and you'll be treated to the origin of Tangerine, which takes place 5 or 6 years after this story (Artist to be announced--I want to blow your minds at the right time). Then, TL comes back and we'll be telling Herman's life story (the shape-shifter who impersonated Dr. Rocket during the first 5 chapters of the Valhalla continuity). These will both be short, five page stories--a format I want to play more with rather than doing these 22 page monsters.
And somewhere in there...somewhere in there will be a little story that just came into being yesterday morning...
DAVID "LEGEND OF BILL" REDDICK DRAWS THE SUPERFOGEYS!
David Reddick is a busy, busy man. Direct from his bio:
"David Reddick is a professional cartoonist working on comic strips such as Legend of Bill,” “The Trek Life” at CBS/ STARTREK.COM, “Gene’s Journal” and “Rod & Barry” at Roddenberry.com, his new single-panel webcomic “Reddickulous,” and he is a full-time cartoonist at Paws, Inc., where he works on the “Garfield” comic strip, as well as conceptual art, character design, marketing, publishing and licensing."
And those are just his current projects. David and I are also both members of the webcartoonist collective Tall Tale Features. We got to talking today, and pretty soon I had a two-page commitment from David to do a guest spot on SuperFogeys Origins!
We ran through some ideas quickly, trying to come up with things that play to David's strengths as an artist. I think the words "cat fight" were mentioned more than once. A few hours later, I had a script done. It was just that fast. David was kind enough to send over some art he created during his lunch hour for me to share with all of you:

How freakin' sweet is that? Don't know yet when exactly you're going to see this little collaboration, but look for it soon! You know with Reddick it's going to be amazing. Be sure and also check out his baby, The Legend of Bill, one of the very best and most well-developed comics out there.
See you on Thursday with SuperFogeys 214!

I thought David Reddick *was* the "blow your mind" guest announcement. It's going to be even more mind-blowing than David Reddick? So far you've had stories drawn by Lucas Turnbloom (and that is a contributing factor in my purchase of SF #4), TL Collins... Dude. If, after those AND David Reddick, you're saying the next guy is mind-blowing, you better get some liability insurance, 'cos my wife will sue you if you make my head explode.

One can just imagine what can happen when two Swiftys meet. Will it be like putting materia and anti-materia near each other or not?amanda says...

I guess elder-Swifty and Mega Matt's mission failed? Well, half of it - I'm curious what he's going to tell his younger self. "Take care of your teeth, you miscreant!" I dunno. Would be funny if it were something completely mundane =Dtyler_durden says...

Thanks for the great mention, Brock! You are too kind! As a huge fan of SuperFogeys, I'm PUMPED. Not unlike elder Captain Spectacular eating 2 Fiber One oats and chocolate fiber bars in one day pumped. I'm talking major. And TL, as always, your work ROCKS! BullFinch the comic book shall be mine!Brock says...

Daverlumpa - His mother, Dave. Everybody has a mother.Greg B. - Didn't meant to imply at all that the artist for the Tangerine origin is more mind-blowing than David Reddick, but I do believe it can safely be argued that he's on that level. I already have the first completed page and...wow.
Si Civa - I'm more concerned over whether or not the universe can handle the meeting of that much snark!
Amanda - Haha, yes, that would be funny. I'm not saying either way though!
Tyler D. - That's a solid rule. There should be forms to sign and licenses to purchase.
David R. - I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see how you handle our story. Gonna be a classic, methinks.

Utahrogue - Awesome!DGriff13 - I'm with you on the first panel. How's that Bullfinch book? I bet it's great.
Artisan54 - I was wondering when someone was gonna notice that. Yes, Swifty's costume has suddenly changed, for no apparent reason. We'll be making the changes retroactive soon. The short version of the reason for the change is that I'm trying to avoid any potential future legal entanglements. Swift just looked too much like the Flash, in the same way that once upon a time CS looked too much like Superman--and no one remember that I ever made that change about halfway through Chapter 2. Sorry for the confusion. I'll probably say something formally soon.

I guess Sam isn't a villain per-say, but more of like a Russian hero. Dude just runs with a bad crowd because his ideology is messed up.Anyway, I noticed something. Young Swifty's clothes have unexplainably turned YELLOW! Seriously. Is this because DC has been hammering you guys with lawsuit threats or ... what?
NOTE: I read the comments and see you don't want to get legal problems. Understandable! Sad though as Swifty's new costume sucks. I dunno, What if it was orange instead of yellow or... The yellow is a little too bright for me. Seems to clash. Oh well, just as long as elderly Swifty doesn't change! :-)
