A big, big shout-out to Th3rd World Publisher Jon Conkling for his help in the creation of this teaser. I created the original version of this teaser entirely in Adobe Illustrator and I knew the idea was solid, but the execution of it was somewhat lacking. I tossed it Jon's way and asked if he had any ideas to make it better. Boy, did he. He took that puppy and ran with it to make the beaut of an image you see above. Thanks again, Jon!
THE SUPERFOGEYS IN 2010
I won't comment on the teaser directly except to say that, in looking at the stories I'll be telling in 2010, I decided that I really wanted to do something to herald them. In many ways, I've been waiting since 2006 to tell the stories I'm gonna tell in 2010. Longtime readers, your patience will be rewarded.
Because this is a promo image, I'm gonna ask you guys to do something for me to help out a little. Pretty easy to do, actually. This is an image that is meant to be distributed. If you do a comic, run a blog, have a Facebook or MySpace page or whatever--PLEASE STEAL THE ABOVE IMAGE AND POST IT.
SF gets solid support from both fans and pros alike, but rarely do I just point blank ask for something like this (unless Guest Strippin' Xmas counts). Well, if I may be so bold, I'm asking now. Resize, redistribute, reuse. All I ask is that you post the image in its entirety. If anyone needs help resizing, shoot me a message here or at heasley (at) th3rdworld (dot) com and I'll size it down as per your needs. I want to make this easy.
You know what? Let's make a game of this. If I see this image in 15 different places on the Interweb (you guys are gonna have to help me out here and alert me to them), I will don the Cone of Shame and post my original version of the teaser before Jon got ahold of it and made it awesome. Seriously, it's embarrassing stuff.
Wanna see it? Post the awesome one!
UPDATE! NOW I DON THE CONE OF SHAME!
You did it. By 11am PST you guys got the teaser out there in 15 different places. Big thanks to everyone who participated! But don't feel like you can't still spread the love. Please, please do grab the above teaser and run with it. Thanks!
And now the Cone of Shame is on. I give you my early, non-Jon Conklingized version of the teaser...
As you can see, Jon did a lot with not very much! Thanks again, man!
SPEAKING OF GUEST STRIPPIN' XMAS...
I was hopped up on joy yesterday when I received another guest strip for my Xmas break--this time from SuperFogeys Origins guest artist Marc Lapierre! Can't say I really expected Marc to contribute being that he just gone doing an excellent SFO piece (the last page of which went up yesterday--you didn't miss it, did you?), but his submission is AWESOME. My wife laughed out loud when she saw it.
You still have three weeks to get your submission in. Dec. 22nd is the deadline. Full details and guidelines can be found right here (scroll down a bit).
NEW STEVE OGDEN SFO SKETCH!
Steve Ogden is hard at work crafting designs for his Thrice Evil origin and today he throws anothe stellar sketch our way. As per usual, you'll have to wait for the actual origin to see what this is all about, but I think you can already tell that it's going to be something special.
See you tomorrow with SuperFogeys 236!

Very cool! From some reason the castle in the preview pic of Steve's SFO story reminds me of "Where Eagles Dare" a Clint Eastwood WWII movie. Great looking stuff guys!bullfinch says...

What are the dimensions of the image? If you want, I might be able to fork over a few bucks and get it posted on BYU campus in the Cougareat (high traffic area) as a full-blown poster. Depending on the price, that would basically be your Christmas present though. Your call.theasley says...

ED- - I haven't seen that movie, but I've always wanted to. Is it any good?Bullfinch - Og is gonna rock it, of that I'm sure. But people should really be getting excited about your work on Harvey. It's amazing.
THeasley - Thanks putting the promo out there! I think we'll leave the Cougar Eatery safe for now, but thanks so much! As for Dr. Klein having "electric powers"....uh, that's the Third Man, Tyler. Sheesh.
YourD - Thanks so much, Jordy!
Tyler D. - Yeah! I should get an audio file of Tom Racine reading the tagline. He'd be perfect.
DDComics - Awesome! Thanks, man! As you can see, your support paid off!
Tom - You know how good Steve is better than anyone. Now I've got him. Muwahahaha.
Don - That's perfect. That's just what I want! Thanks, Don.
Matt Forcum - Robot Beach! Thanks for the choice placement!

WOW, Sweet... You mean I can STEAL this and show lots and lots of people without legal action? lol. That's awesome, man, because my first book is going to the printer soon and maybe I can fit it in somewhere. Oh, and since I was too late securing a con table, I'm taking it to my local comic shops. At least one or two of them already said they'd sell them for me, which is awesome.
