Where I'm At
Comicspace
I'm not really on here a whole lot, but it is the best place to see an online portfolio of my art. You'll find a pretty wide range of styles and techniques.
Still trying to figure out what Facebook is good for. Won't you come over and help me figure it out?
MySpace
Probably the best place to contact me besides here and email. You'll find my entire archive of blogs there, as well as the SuperFogeys in my top friends list.
Tall Tale Features
In April of 2008 Mike (Pinkerton) Witmer asked a group of webcomic artists to come together to form a "collective." I'm privileged to be a founding member. There you'll find creator blogs, news, Tall Tale Radio podcasts and the SuperFogeys forum! Check it out!
Up to the minute updates on what I'm up to and what the current progress on the SuperFogeys is.
Favorite Webcomics
Argyle Sweater
A hilarious, nationally syndicated, single panel trip into the absurd. One for those who don't mind saying, "Oh, wait, I get it..." and then laughing uproariously.
Astray3
SuperFogeys Origins guest artist Eldon Cowgur's black & white comic about a girl lost in a crazy alternate dimension is one of the most beautiful comics on the web.
Boxcar Astronaut
Jeff Carter and Marc Lapierre's Boxcar Astronaut is an all-ages treat that makes my daughter Dictator Tot laugh every time. Marc was also kind enough to do a guest spot in SuperFogeys Origins for me.
Broken
A haunting, mannered study in decompression and loss, "Broken" by my Tall Tale Features compadre Chip Skelton will stay in your brain long after you've treated yourself to the latest update. MATURE CONTENT WARNING: Language.
Bullfinch
T.L. Collins is not only the regular SuperFogeys Origins artist, he also does a kick-butt, laugh out loud comic of his own on a weekly basis. Check it out or lose out on smiles.
Dog Eat Doug
Brian Anderson is a fellow member of Tall Tale Features and a true cartoonist. His brilliantly loose line work and light touch make it easy to understand why "Dog Eat Doug" is a hit not only on the web, but in newspapers across the country.
Gill
Norm Feuti's Gill is the comic your local newspaper would never run, but should.
Imagine This
What happens when a 30-year-old man digs out his old stuffed animals and finds they still have the power to come alive for him? So asks "Imagine This," the very funny webcomic from fellow Tall Tale Features founding member Lucas Turnbloom. CLOVIS!!!
Imy
So it's like this: There's this girl, Irma E.? She lives in Sweden. And the comic she does? That's "Imy," but Imy isn't Irma. Doesn't live in Sweden, either. None of this matters. What does matter is that "Imy" is just the right amount of cute and funny, with a bit of a rock edge. Yeah, I don't get that either, but it works.
Legend of Bill
David Reddick's "Legend of Bill" is a classic barbarian tale in the tradition of Conan, or at least it would be if Conan worked at Wal-Mart. Must be read to be believed. Plus, David Reddick? You guessed it--a founding member of Tall Tale Features!
Madscott
Scott Gallatin, co-host of "The Gigcast," is one weird dude. I mean, who else would make a autobiographical comic that proves that you're borderline insane? With fantastical elements, humor and simple, but effective drawings, Scott somehow makes the absurd workings of his mind into something truly relatable.
Marooned
This one's by my new buddy Tom Dell'Aringa. A very charming tale of a dim-witted astronaut stranded on Mars with his intellectual superior/companion robot.
Max vs. Max
Wes Molebash's newest comic is a must read. "Recently divorced and struggling to find direction in his life, Max does his best to stay optimistic while wrestling with his insecurities and feelings of guilt. Fortunately for Max, he has an awesome group of friends and a loving family to help him out and kick him in the pants."
Moon Town
Wow. The art in color in Steve Ogden's comic about miners on the moon leaves me drooling on a weekly basis. So of course I had to get him to draw a SuperFogeys Origin.
Odori Park
I'm new to Chris Watkin's "east marries west" comic is full of the kind of energy and humor that new marrieds need to get through those first few years. Art is a stand out.
Omega Chase
How does an old west sheriff have memories of the future? Now there's a puzzle for you, and that's just the first page. Check out Keith Dallas's and Julio Molina-Muscara's (artist of "Captain Spectacular and Star Maiden in the Inevitable Dimension" in SuperFogeys Collection #2!) masterwork, "Omega Chase." The power of Th3rd World compels you! MATURE CONTENT WARNING: Graphic Violence.
PC Weenies
SuperFogeys Origins guest artist Krishna Sadasivam's long-running comic on the trials and travails of tech nerds is truly a classic and always funny.
Perry Bible Fellowship
The best webcomic there is? Well, it probably would be if it still updated more than once every 4 months, but there's still a vast archive worth multiple visits. A true classic.
Pinkerton
The newest webcomic in the Th3rd World stable, "Pinkerton" doesn't really FEEL new. No, it feels ACCOMPLISHED. This is textbook good stuff. Witty, laugh-out-loud funny and a new phrase is coined in every other strip. Mike Witmer is not only the founder of Tall Tale Features, he's kind of really smart too.
Planet Karen
Karen Ellis has laid herself bare to the world and we all get to see it. From the mundane to the shocking to the sad to the happy, Karen details her life in full, wonderful detail.
PVP
Scott Kurtz is the model for how to successfully market your webcomic. The clincher? His strip is actually really, really good. Dude knows what he's doing. MATURE CONTENT WARNING: Language.
Stewart
Scott Metzger, a fellow founding member of Tall Tale Features, is currently on a break. Hopefully it won't be too long of a break and he can get back to chronicling the adventures of everyone's favorite Bison.
Subnormality
Hands-down the smartest webcomic there is. I don't always agree, but the sharp way Winston Rowntree gets the point across and the defiance of formula and convention he infuses into each and every strip just have me sitting back in awe. MATURE CONTENT WARNING: Language.
SuperFogeys
Well, I like it. (Really, this is just here in case anyone would like to put a SF banner on their site.)
Thog Infinitron
What happens when a caveman gets kidnapped by aliens and returned to earth as the world's first bionic man? Riel Langlois and Daniel Woodhouse will show you the funny. Featuring the occasional in-comic cameo by me. Not the SuperFogeys. Me. Weird, right?
Uncubed
SuperFogeys Origins guest artist Krishna Sadasivam lays his real life bare in this excellent autobiographical comic. Wonderful colors and art, and a poignant story to boot.
Xylia
The most beautiful comic on the web? I sure think so. Barb Jacobs is a fellow member of Tall Tale Features and a phenomenal talent. Go. See. Now.
You'll Have That
Wes Molebash's "YHT" is the comic that first got me into webcomics. It's still one of my favorites and the only webcomic (besides the SuperFogeys) that my wife reads. A lovely, funny take on the early days of marriage. And who writes about that, much less draws it?
