A New Era of Charmed & Dangerous Begins at Gen Con
When we released Charmed & Dangerous in 2019, we introduced players to a world where familiar fairy tale Princesses had become RPG style adventurers.
Legendary fairy tale heroines you once knew have grown into warriors, mystics, scholars, explorers, cavaliers, and champions. And together, they faced Villainesses, curses, monsters, and the many dangers threatening the Lands of Fable.
Over the years, that world has continued to grow. New Princesses have joined the fight, more Villainesses have emerged, and the Lands of Fable have become larger and more epic with every story we’ve told.
And at Gen Con 2026, Charmed & Dangerous takes its biggest leap forward yet.
Part of our World
For the first time, players will be able to step fully into the Lands of Fable and create adventures of their own in the all new Charmed & Dangerous: The Roleplaying Game.
Players will explore a fractured fairy tale world still recovering from the War of Sharpened Crowns, where kingdoms struggle to rebuild, old alliances have weakened, forgotten dangers are stirring, and Villainesses weave their sinister plans from the shadows.
Powered by the Cypher System and published under Monte Cook Games' Cypher System Open License, the RPG brings the heroines and world of Charmed & Dangerous into a full tabletop roleplaying experience.
To help bring the Lands of Fable to life, we assembled an incredible creative team led by Christopher Robin Negelein, founder of Ganza Gaming, creator of the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park RPG, and one of the earliest creators to publish through the Cypher System Open License. Christopher serves as Lead Designer, helping shape the game's mechanics while ensuring every adventure captures the wonder, danger, and imagination at the heart of Charmed & Dangerous.
Joining the project is acclaimed fantasy author Kij Johnson, whose work has earned three Nebula Awards, a Hugo Award, and three World Fantasy Awards, making her one of the most celebrated voices in modern speculative fiction.
Kij's contributions to Charmed & Dangerous: The Roleplaying Game help enrich the Lands of Fable with the kind of evocative worldbuilding and memorable stories that have defined her award-winning career. Together, Christopher and Kij are helping shape a setting where familiar fairy tales become unforgettable adventures.
Players attending Gen Con will have the first opportunity to experience a playable prototype of Charmed & Dangerous: The Roleplaying Game in the Monte Cook Games rooms, 131–132.
The scheduled events are already nearly sold out, and we are incredibly excited to see players enter the Lands of Fable for the first time. Make sure you sign up to follow our updates while you’re there because we have so much more coming.
Reserve your spot before it's too late.
You can also follow along with the project as it progresses over at Backerkit.
Did You Say “Roll” Playing Game

We sure did. The original Charmed & Dangerous card game is growing too. At Gen Con, we will debut the Princess Roll-Playing Game, a new dice-driven way to experience the cooperative card game and it is fully compatible with every existing Charmed & Dangerous card.
That’s right! Princesses and expansions already in your collection remain part of the experience, with new dice-based challenges and adventure structures layered on top of the original game and you can bring all of these new features into battle against a Candy Witch who has grown even more powerful in The Rotting Sweetness.
Players will need to survive the Candy Witch’s traps, uncover her One True Weakness, and work together to bring her reign of sweetness and decay to an end.
The Rotting Sweetness will debut at Gen Con.

The first volume will debut at Gen Con and become available online after the convention.
Wonderland’s Princess Emerges
The first volume of The Ever After Archives turns its attention to one of fairy tales’ most unusual worlds—and most unusual Princesses, Alice.
Alice has spent years navigating Wonderland’s shifting rules, confounding creatures, and perplexing riddles, shaping her into a fearless Cavalier. She rides into battle atop the massive ethereal Cheshire Cat, appearing and disappearing across the battlefield in flashes of shimmering light.
She is ready to face any threat with the Clockface Shield, an artifact crafted from the pocketwatch of her first friend in Wonderland,, and the Neverlate Blade, a clock-hand sword that combines with her shield and lets her freeze time. .
Alice’s appearance in The Ever After Archives offers a first look at the new stories and corners of the Lands of Fable that we will explore with you in the years ahead.
Official Charmed & Dangerous Dice and Accessories
With the arrival of the Roleplaying Game and Princess Roll-Playing Game, we also wanted to create accessories that could move between both experiences.
At Gen Con, you’ll be able to pick up the official Charmed & Dangerous dice set and dice bag, designed for use with both games.
Whether you are facing the Candy Witch or creating your own adventures, these accessories were created to feel at home anywhere in the Lands of Fable.

You showed us that this world had more stories to tell.
Come find us at Booth #231 and see everything we have to offer. Because this is not the end of our journey. It is the beginning of something much larger.
